“I am not creative”…myth busters of your creativity

“I can’t draw, I can’t write, and dancing wasn’t my thing either.” Sound familiar? Many people have convinced themselves they’re simply not creative. But creativity isn’t just about obvious talents — it’s about how you think, feel, and interact with the world around you. You might be surprised to hear this, but: EVERYONE IS BORN CREATIVE! NASA reports that 98% of children are born with genius-level creativity. Studies show that what we call “non-creative” thinking is actually learned — and if we don’t nurture our creative side, it slowly fades. But here’s the good news: your creativity is still there. You just need to reconnect with it. So, how can you rediscover your creative spark? How do you stay inspired in your daily life? Start with this simple checklist — Part 1:
  1. Take a moment and think: what kind of environment helps you focus and feel energized? (At a desk? Standing? With a fresh coffee? After a favorite series? In a cozy café?)
  2. Notice the music you enjoy. Research shows that upbeat music — and cheerful TikTok fans — often show strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ask yourself: what do you love to look at for long periods? Which creative skills from others inspire you? (Music, baking, fashion, photography, video, tattoo art, floristry, dance, interior design, writing — or something totally unique to you?)
  4. How do you express creativity in everyday life? (With your favorite sayings and inside jokes? Through fashion or your personal style? In your home décor? Hobbies? The way you give gifts? Special traditions? Cooking? Even your job?)
There’s no way that nothing applies to you. You’re not a copy of your friend, neighbor, or coworker. There’s definitely something in your life you do in your own unique way. And most importantly — don’t be afraid to pour out your creative energy. Creativity doesn’t run out. The more you use it, the more it grows. ty never ends. The more you use it, the more it becomes.
